PMS Problems

PMS problems are many and varied. PMS problems range from those which can impact women emotionally or psychologically such as depression, anxiety, irritability and mood swings, to physical problems such as bloating and water retention, cramps, headache, nausea, constipation, problem hair and skin, tender breasts, dizziness etc. PMS symptoms can cause a spectrum of problems over one two, or many more days at any time during the two-week phase before a period starts. PMS problems tend never to affect any two women in the same way. A minority of women don't even suffer any PMS symptoms (oh yes, the very lucky ones!) so have no problems at all. For others, a few PMS symptoms can lead to a mildly problematic time for a couple or a few days each month. For some women however, severe PMS symptoms each month can lead to such serious problems that normal life is all but brought to a screeching halt. It can be very hard to function normally when PMS strikes. The impact of the emotional and physical symptoms of PMS can lead to problems across all aspects of life; work, home and relationships. For a few days each month, many women can no longer behave as the energetic, rational and stable godesses who normally run the planet. Their emotions, pain and discomfort may trigger very different (and not in a good way!) behavior or responses to even everyday situations or the people in their lives during this time of the menstrual cycle.

Adaptations to diet and lifestyle and a number of medications can lessen the problems caused by PMS symptoms and restore normality for most women. PMS can be a frustrating and downright miserable time, so anything that helps to lessen PMS problems, even a little, is definitely worth a try.
